Have You Seen This Pathogen?

UPDATE: 10/22/13: I will be printing more card sets. If you would like a set, go ahead and click the "Send Me a Set" button below or to the right and as soon as I get them in, I will send yours out.

UPDATE 9/22/13: I am currently out of card sets. If I receive enough requests, I will run another printing.

They're heeere.

Back in August 2012, I introduced a little art project I had been working on. It consisted of a series of sixteen digital posters. Since August was Immunization Awareness Month, and my posters were somewhat related, I thought it a fitting time to publish them, releasing them one a day over fifteen days (with a bonus two-for-one in the middle).

Well, I finally got around to printing up 4" x 5" cards of my Vaccine Preventable Disease Wanted Posters.

I have a limited supply of these available for free. If you would like a set (or several) of these, send me an email and I can mail them to you. The cards are printed on 80 weight stock with a glossy finish. Although I'm giving these away, I would encourage you to consider making a donation to vaccine or autism research. Click here for several suggestions of organizations that advance our scientific knowledge in these areas.

  1. I've noticed the mailto code in the text and buttons above does not appear to be working consistently. If you would like me to send you a set of cards, email me at todd [at] harpocratesspeaks [dot] com and put VPD Wanted Poster Request in the subject line.

  5. Hi Todd,

You sent me 3 sets of cards recently. As a family doc, I've seen the feedback from patients, staff and other FPs as very positive.
I think it's a safe (not fearing judgment) way for patients to learn (also fun, thanks to your use of the CDC images and characterization).
We put one pack out attached by a wire so people can look and not take it home!
It also gives people (parents) a starting point for an informed conversation with us.
In my last email I told you about the kid who had his chickenpox catch-up booster age 9, and now has a whopping chickenpox infection. He's just heartbroken that he toughed it out for shots and mad as hell that he might have caught it from some kid who never even got shots.
Now the issue in Ontario is HPV. Argh.

Thanks for all your hard work!

So glad they've been well-received. Sorry to hear about the patient who got chickenpox. Would love to see that vaccine improved so there are fewer breakthrough cases.

Thanks for your comment, and I love the handle!
